Northwest Rail Operating Facility (NWROF) Bid-Build - Dallas, Texas
This bid-build project involved constructing 19 storage tracks, 5 service and inspection tracks and 4 yard leads to support DART’s expanding rail systems. The work included procurement of the signaling system, overhead catenary system (OCS), and traction electrification system for the storage yard, a service and inspection facility and vehicle wash station.
To complete the project, four signal instrument houses were installed to control 60 switch machines and 23 pushbutton-type route selectors to allow access all areas of the yard. 222 poles, 10 miles of simple-tensioned catenary were installed to provide power to the yard. Two traction power substations were installed with switch line-up series to allow for sectioning the power distribution to the yard and facility.
